The Acoustic Cafe crew have created Alter Ego Productions to promote electric live music acts on Waiheke Island and their inaugural event is this friday at the Artworks Theatre in Oneroa.

Waiheke Radio will broadcast this show live on the night starting at 7:30pm and going until 12. Tune in on 88.3 or 107.4 or check out our streams here: http://www.waihekeradio.org.nz/listen

Three bands in one night featuring Ian Simpson, 0yawa and The Hollowmen. Expect a diverse spread of styles from the expanded singer/songwriter line up with Ian Simpson and a rhythm section of Malcolm McMoretone and Manuel Kahura. New songs with a new edge but still a great vocalist and an evolving song writer. Simpson has been busy playing and putting in the yards and this show promises an even fuller performance.

The core of 0yawa that has outlived line up changes is Nikki Ngatai, songwriter and vocalist/guitarist, with long time drummer Miles Gillett, once based in the US playing in bands such as El Groupo Sexo and Fluf. 0yawa are always rehearsing, working on new material as an outlet to Nikki's evolution as a writer and performer. A locals favourite.

Lastly, but by no means least, is The Hollow Men. Expect bell's and whistles and any other manner of alarm as these guys mean business. Expect rock'n'roll, performance and energy.

All shaping up to be a great night, don't miss it. Tickets are $15 on the door or book direct with the theatre.
