A Classical A-Z -Chopin, works in B

This week’s show is based on Chopin’ piano music, hence the letter C, but all the pieces of music start with the letter B.  So we are going to have the 4 Ballades, a berceuse, a bolero and a barcarolle.  .  .  Now good old Chopin is credited with creating the Ballade genre for the piano as before that the term Ballade had been associated exclusively with literature and in fact all of Chopin’s ballades are assumed to draw on the poetry of Chopin’s friend Adam Mickiewicz.   The ballades are considered amongst the finest of Chopin’s creation and are some of his larger scale works for solo piano.
