Headland Sculpture On The Gulf – Jeff Thomson – Artist Talk


A chance to hear again the artist talk from Jeff Thomson recorded in the Pavilion at Matiatia on Waiheke IslandĀ 

Aucklander Jeff Thomson has been a full-time sculptor since 1986 and is unique in having participated in all six headland Sculpture on the gulf exhibitions. During this time he has held solo exhibitions throughout Australia, New Zealand, Germany and France. His favoured material has been corrugated iron, however he also incorporates wire, concrete, plastics, water and other found materials. Thomson holds a BFA in painting from Elam School of Fine Arts, University of Auckland. He was the 1995 Francis Hodgkins Fellow at the University of Otago in 2000, and the Tylee Cottage Artist in Residence, Sarjeant Art Gallery, Wanganui in 2000.
