On Sunday the 23rd of June 200 people gathered for Hikoi Matiatia, a march from Alison Park to Matiatia protesting against a marina proposed for the bay. Those marching had a diversity of views but were united in their opposition to the marina. This podcast features some of the voices and sounds of the hikoi.
For further Waiheke Radio coverage of the Matiatia marina proposal listen to an interview with the man behind the proposal, Graham Guthrie; Faye Storer on the local board’s position on the proposal; marina opponent Kathryn Ngapo; and an interview with historian and author of a book on Matiatia Paul Monin.
